Last day in Paris

Not much of one, really. Packed, checked out and am making my journey to the airport. It's a small airport 50 mi outside Paris. The trip to the airport will be almost as long as my flight to Rome.

Had an amazing meal last night accompanied by a great bottle of wine at this little place my friend, Josh, MADE me go to near our hotel. Josh was staying at the same hotel last week. We overlapped by one night -- Nuit Blanche, but didn't manage to meet up. He ate at this restaurant, Les Papilles, on his last night. It's a pre-fixe menu and he wanted to see what other dishes they serve. I took Peter and it was a great way to end my stay in Paris. We both went to bed stuffed. I don't think I've ever eaten so much.

The meal started off with a mushroom soup with bacon, croutons and some kind of cream or cheese. Then we had chicken over vegetables in a kind of a stew. They served it in a copper pot. Next was tapenade on bread and some amazing little piece of cheese. Finally, a pineapple panacotta with a passion fruit glaze on top.
The guys that run the place are really nice (and they speak English!). It looks like a wine store from the outside. I highly recommend it!
