Two metro trains crash in Rome

There was a huge subway accident this morning in Rome. Two people died and many more were injured, some of them very seriously. I, fortunately, was nowhere near it. Peter is heading over there to report on it for the Herald Tribune. I took the subway for the first time last night when Peter and I went to a premiere at Rome's first film festival. We saw Alatriste starring Viggo Mortensen who attended the screening. It was a little long and I thought it was a bit difficult to follow all the sub-plots, mainly because it was hard to distinguish the many dark-haired bearded men from each other, but I enjoyed it. We had great seats thanks to an article Peter wrote in the NY Times over the weekend that went over well with the festival organizers. Looks like some of the festival events have been canceled due to the accident this morning, but the screenings will still happen. We're planning to go to as many as we can this week.
